Symposium
Contamination: Impure Architecture
SAT JUN 3, 10 AM–4 PM
As a product of a culture, a time, and a process, architecture is contaminated and contaminates. This “impure architecture” reflects and affects how we view civilizations today; it also brings into question our concepts of truth, ideality, utopia, and progress as embodied in the built world. Join key architectural theorists and practitioners in a consideration of the transformative power of contamination. This one-day symposium is co-hosted by the museum and Oldcastle Glass.
Participants: Kunlé Adeyemi, Cynthia Davidson, Elizabeth Diller, Greg Lynn, Farshid Moussavi, and Bernard Tschumi.
PLEASE NOTE: This Symposium is currently at capacity. If you have not received a confirmation, a limited number of seats will be available on a "first come, first served" basis beginning at 9:50 AM the day of the event. Thank you for your interest in Guggenheim Programs.
Organized by Cynthia Davidson and Log Magazine.
The symposium is
made possible by Oldcastle Glass, whose generous sponsorship has made this program free to the public.
