Daytrip

Be among the first to be welcomed by Bonnie Rychlak, Curator/Director of Collections, at the newly renovated galleries and outdoor sculpture garden of the Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum, Long Island City. Isamu Noguchi began his career as a modern sculptor in the 1920s as an apprentice to Constantin Brancusi in Paris while on a Guggenheim Fellowship. Our daytrip includes lunch and private tours of the special exhibition Isamu Noguchi: Sculptural Design, organized by the Vitra Design Museum in Germany and designed by Robert Wilson.

Join Tracey Bashkoff, Associate Curator for Collections and Exhibitions, for an introduction and tour of Constantin Brancusi: The Essence of Things. Patrons Circle members are invited to continue the evening and attend the lecture "Dore Ashton: Speaking of Brancusi" (see below for description).

William Tucker on Brancusi
TUES JULY 6 @ 6:30 PM
Artist and writer William Tucker discusses the work of Constanin Brancusi, addressing his tendency toward abstraction and his influence on 20th-century sculpture. Tucker is the author of The Language of Sculpture and has written extensively on 20th-century sculpture. He has exhibited at the Venice Biennale, the Tate, and Storm King Art Center.

Dore Ashton: Speaking of Brancusi
TUES JULY 20 @ 6:30 PM
Renowned art historian Dore Ashton provides new reflections on the work of Constantin Brancusi, in dialogue with exhibition curator Carmen Giménez. Ashton is the author or editor of 30 books on art and culture, including Noguchi East and West, About Rothko, American Art Since 1945, A Joseph Cornell Album, and David Smith: Medals for Dishonor.

BOX OFFICE POLICY
To order tickets over the phone, please call the Box Office at (212) 423-3587, Monday–Friday, 1–5 pm. Single-event tickets go on sale one month prior to the event. There is a $2-per-ticket handling fee for all nonsubscription orders.

Tickets are mailed if purchased at least two weeks prior to an event. All other tickets will be held at the Box Office. The Box Office opens one hour prior to each performance. Tickets may be purchased at the door as space allows. The Box Office closes 20 minutes after the event begins; we regret that late arrivals cannot be admitted after this time.
